
Yujen Tsai is a Taiwanese soprano and a doctoral candidate in Voice Performance and Literature at the Eastman School of Music, where she studies with acclaimed soprano Kiera Duffy. She has taught voice to students of all ages and actively advocates for Asian art song, with a particular focus on Taiwanese repertoire, through performance and education.
Yujen holds a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University, where she studied with Carl DuPont and received the George Castelle Memorial Prize in Voice. Her honors also include the Taiwan Ministry of Education Scholarship, prizes from the National Association of Teachers of Singing, and recognition from the Camille Coloratura Competition and the Taiwan Association of Vocal Artists.
Her performance experience includes participation in the Lori Laitman Residency and Retrospective Concert at Peabody, as well as ensemble work in Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 with the Berliner Philharmoniker, Sir Simon Rattle, and the BBC Choir at the Taiwan National Concert Hall.
